IGPOTY Competition Deadline Imminent

International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) is reminding interested photographers that the submission deadline is getting closer and closer. You have until 30 November to enter your work. There are six categories; Plant Portraits, Garden Views, Wildlife in the Garden, People in the Garden, Wildflowers, and Trees, with awards for single images as well as portfolios. This year’s top prize is £5000 for the overall ‘International Garden Photographer of the Year’ winner plus a Royal Photographic Society gold medal and £2,000 cash prize for the Portfolio winner. There are also special awards for the image that best portrays the ‘Spirit of the American Garden’, the ‘Best Image of Kew Gardens’ and the ‘Best Image of Wakehurst Place’.

Whether you win or not, IGPOTY has something to offer everyone. Uniquely among photography competitions, we offer every photographer who enters the chance to receive a personal email critique of their entry from the judges (once the winners are announced) as well as an invitation to an Entrants’ Day in 2011 at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

The third International Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition is currently on display in a new outdoor location at Wakehurst Place in West Sussex until the 16th January 2011.
