Goodbye to winter: Rollei’s new Sportsline 60 awakens a yearning for summer, sun and sea
Hamburg,26 January 2010
While winter still has us firmly in its grip, Rollei is once again preparing for summer, presenting the Sportsline 60, the worthy successor to the popular Sportsline 50 – an attractively priced digital camera that is always ready for action. For all those who want to be able carry on shooting on the beach or in the water.
This new and improved 5-megapixel camera is waterproof to three metres and capable of producing brilliant HD videos both above and below the surface of the water. Thanks to its underwater function and the special waterproof casing, this sporty camera (dimensions: 90.3 x 63 x 25.3 mm) is also suitable for snorkelling practice in the swimming pool or happily splashing around in the bath at home.
The high-precision lens of the Sportsline 60 captures sea-life or squeaky ducks as a still image at a resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels, and at 1280 x 720 pixels (30 frames per second) in video mode. The focal length of 8.5 mm corresponds to 64 mm in standard 35 mm format.
The display boasts a resolution of 960 x 240 Pixels. There are six shooting modes and five different white balance settings available, to ensure the perfect shot. The high-quality, high-precision lens (F=2.8/8.5 mm), the built-in flash and the 8x digital zoom round off the technical features.
Thanks to its special surface, this sturdy lightweight camera (98 grams without batteries and memory card) sits snugly in the hand even in the water. Water droplets simply roll of the 2.5” colour TFT LC display. The camera is guaranteed impact-resistant up to a height of one metre, making it suitable for any type of outdoor activity. The Sportsline 60 is particularly suitable for children, not least because of its simple controls and its sturdy casing. Available in the colours pink, yellow, blue and green, it is a colourful eye-catcher both in and near the water.
Power for the Sportsline 60 is provided by two AAA alkaline batteries. This is particularly useful on holiday because you can simply buy more batteries and there is no need for recharging. Micro SD memory cards up to 8GB can be used to store image data. Photographs and videos can be transferred to a PC/Mac using the memory card or the USB 2.0 high-speed connector.
The Sportsline 60 will be available in shops from 2011 at the recommended retail price of EUR 79.95.
