What To Do With Awkward Den Space? Good Question

Q: Need help with our awkward den space. We purchased a lovely condo, 1 bedroom with two full baths and a really awkward space "the den". It is 12'x10' completely closed with a door, no window or closet. We have had the hardest time deciding what to do with this space, we have discussed: Taking the wall down and just extending the living room area, inserting a window into the wall, changing the door to a glass door for light to come in and finally, taking one wall down and installing french doors.

Awkward Family Photos: You Gotta See This Book!

Here is a book every Portrait photographer should have on their coffee table - Awkward Family Photos.

I spent an hour flipping through it yesterday at a friend’s place and it’s a very funny read – but also reminded me a lot of the shots in my own family album from when I was a child!

Yep – as the title suggests it’s a book filled with photos of families (and other groups) that will make you cringe. Sometimes it’s because of what everyone’s wearing, sometimes it’s the haircuts (the 80’s were especially cruel on that front), sometimes it’s the posing and sometimes it’s a combination of these and other factors – awkward…. and very very funny photos.

While not a serious photography book it does serve as a ‘what not to do’ guide for portrait photographers and would make a great stocking stuffer this Christmas (Amazon have it for just $9.99 as I write this so it’s a good price for that type of gift too)!
