First RED Epic shipped to customer

type="html">

Finally, after over a year and several months of delays, RED has shipped the first production version of the RED Epic, the camera which is set to replace the revolutionary RED One. The first production model went to production company OffHollywood, which paid a hefty $58,000 for the honor.

The package includes a 5-inch touchscreen LCD, a REDmote, a four-pack of batteries, a charger and a solid state storage module with four of 128GB SSD drives. Everything you need to shoot your next film. Plus a few lenses, of course. RED will ramp up production early next year and start shipping the cameras in volume.
