Adobe has launched Photoshop Express 1.5 for iOS devices. The free program debuts a fast new camera workflow that enables continuous, rapid photo-taking directly in the app, adds multi-tasking and full Retina display support, and offers a better photo uploading experience. Photoshop Express 1.5 for iOS is available immediately on the App store. Note that the new version requires iOS 4.2.

Adobe today announced the immediate availability of Adobe Photoshop Express 1.5 software for iOS devices. Designed for iOS 4.2, Photoshop Express 1.5 introduces significant improvements to the photo capture and editing experience, including:
New camera workflow: Photoshop Express 1.5 debuts a fast new camera workflow that enables continuous, rapid photo-taking directly in the app. Customers can quickly capture and review multiple shots—even those hard-to-get action shots—and hand them off seamlessly to the Photoshop Express editor for cropping, adjustments and effects (designed for iPhone and iPod Touch models with built-in cameras).
Full Retina display support on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch models: Photos look smooth and sharp, and the app screen looks crisp and clear, thanks to full support for Retina display in Photoshop Express 1.5.
Multi-tasking support: With new support for multi-tasking in iOS 4.2, Photoshop Express 1.5 remembers where customers leave off when they switch to another app and then switch back to Photoshop Express. That means customers can pay attention to email, news, games and other activities on their iOS device and then jump right back into viewing or editing a photo without having to start over.
Improved photo uploading: One of the benefits of multi-tasking support is a better photo uploading experience. Now customers can queue and continue uploading photos to Photoshop.com or Facebook in the background while switching between Photoshop Express 1.5 and other apps.
“Photoshop Express 1.5 is an incredibly useful release for anyone doing photo capture and editing on iOS devices,” says Matt Domenici, director of product management for mobile imaging at Adobe. “Our millions of iOS-based users will be delighted by their new ability to capture the right shots more easily, view beautifully smooth versions on-screen, and edit them even while switching back and forth with other apps, picking up right where they left off.”

BETT, LONDON — 12 January 2011 — Leading UK awarding body, OCR, and Adobe has announced at BETT 2011 that the Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) qualification in Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash and Photoshop is now available as part of OCR’s new ITQ qualification.
This means students with skills in Adobe’s creative software can now achieve a second nationally-recognised IT qualification from OCR. OCR’s portfolio of Adobe-linked qualifications is growing fast with success in Adobe Dreamweaver, Flash and Photoshop also helping students to achieve OCR’s Creative iMedia qualification.
For Adobe, this initiative represents the company’s commitment to ensuring that students have industry-standard skills when they enter the workplace. Liz Wilkins, Senior Marketing Manager for Adobe Systems UK, said: “At Adobe, we have worked closely with educational institutions for many years, championing the use of digital media tools and integrating them into a range of subject areas in order to better prepare students for the future demands of the workplace. Adobe Camera Raw 6.3 & Lightroon 3.3 Released

Adobe has posted the full versions of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) 6.3 and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.3, adding raw file support for 15 new cameras and distortion profiles for a number of lenses. Previously available as Release Candidates only, ACR 6.3 and Lightroom 3.3 add support for the Canon PowerShot G12, Canon PowerShot S95, Nikon D3100 (pictured), Nikon D7000, Nikon Coolpix P7000, Olympus E-5, Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2, Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2, Pentax K-5, Pentax K-r, Ricoh GXR & GR LENS A12 28mm f/2.5, Samsung NX100, Samsung TL350 (WB2000), Sony A560 and Sony A580 models. Adobe has also released the free Lens Profile Downloader 1.0 for Camera Raw 6, Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5. This companion application allows customers to search, download, rate and comment on over 300 lens correction profiles provided by the Adobe user community.

Adobe Releases Lightroom 3.3 and Camera Raw 6.3 Along With New Lens Profile Downloader
Adobe today announced the Lightroom 3.3 and Camera Raw 6.3 updates are available for immediate download on Adobe.com. Originally posted as release candidates on Adobe Labs, the final updates bring raw file support to 15 new popular camera models including Nikon D7000 and Canon Powershot S95, as well as lens profiles for over 60 new Nikon, Canon, Pentax and Sigma lenses. Available on Adobe Labs, the Lens Profile Downloader 1.0 – a free companion application to Lightroom 3, Photoshop CS5 and Camera Raw 6 – allows customers to search, download, rate and comment on over 300 lens correction profiles provided by the community. Photographers can create custom profiles for their own lenses and share them with the user community.
